Issue 03 Submissions Deadline Extension

Hello Readers,

Due to our number of submissions, we are extending the submissions deadline from March 22 till May 12, 2016. All submissions submitted after May 12 will most likely be considered for Issue 04. Also, our publication date is changing from Sunday, May 15 to Tuesday, May 17.

As a quick reminder, Wink welcomes prose, poetry, photography, artwork, monthly prompts (see announcement), and other creative works, so long as they are school appropriate.

To submit, please visit submissions guideline page for more details or send Wink an email containing your submission. We accept untitled works, but strongly prefer titles, so that they’re easier to distinguish.

If you have submitted, thank you for your submission and we look forward to seeing more work from you.

Monthly Prompt 4/19

Hello Readers!

Wink is adding something awesome and new to its website. Every week Wink will release a prompt that you can address through any artistic art form including photography, art, and writing. This week’s prompt is going to be the start of spring. Some ideas to get you going is a poem that highlights what spring means to you, a narrative about your favorite spring memories, or a series of photographs representing spring. In order to submit your work for this prompt, please proceed through the normal submissions process. Make sure you select “Weekly Prompt” in the “Type of Work” section on the submissions page. The deadline for this prompt is  5/10/16.

Camp NaNoWriMo April 2016

Hello Readers,

It is April, which means Camp NaNoWriMo has started. In a nutshell, Camp NaNoWriMo is NaNoWriMo in April.

If you’re interested in participating, all of you have to do is set up an account (if you don’t already have one) and write about 1667 words to finish on time–50,000 words is the default word count goal, but you can change it.

Happy Writing, Reading, and all things literary–

Viewing Update

Hello Wink Readers! We are excited to announce that Wink is now being viewed internationally, namely in the United States, United Kingdom, Poland and Canada. This is a huge leap since the beginning of Wink in spring of 2015. A look back at where we were in the beginning: no blog, less than 10 submissions, and an unfinished iBooks publication. Thanks for reading!
